Kickin' Back in KK

My last week in Kota Kinabalu (north side of Borneo) was a much welcome break. Who can complain about no schedules, no expectations, no work email and the most pressing decision was whether to order a chai latte or bavarian choco shake? Just for the record, the chai latte won 3 out of 4 times =)

I booked a room at the Hyatt which overlooked the Malaysian islands in the South China Sea. Not only did harbor activity keep me entertained but the Filipino and Fish Markets were within walking distance. It's amazing how much you can learn about a country by simply observing its people and their daily life.

I was thinking of purchasing frog purses as gifts but somehow I don't think they would be appreciated...? And yes, believe it or not these purses are real frogs that have been gutted.

Even working in Malaysia seemed laid-back when witnessing so many tailors with their machines outdoors!

I ended up spending enough time at the hotel because it was such a relaxing and beautiful place to rest. I have to say the breakfast and dinner buffets were a feast for the eyes and appetite. Good thing there was a fitness center in the hotel to work off those extra calories.

All in all, an incredible stay in Malaysia. I feel incredibly blessed to participate in both a challenging and life-changing week in Tawau, with an added week of processing and rejuvenating in KK.
